LOVE IN THE TIMES OF THE DAY - WORLD PREMIERE
Robert Weiss presents a new ballet based on paintings by Czech artist, Alfonse Mucha. Weiss came across the series of paintings while visiting an art gallery in Prague and was inspired to bring them to life through ballet. Working with a specially commissioned score by J. Mark Scearce expressly for renowned pianist, William Wolfram, this is a ballet for lovers just in time for Valentine’s Day. The program will also feature Time Gallery, Weiss’ collaboration with Pulitzer prize-winning New York based composer, Paul Moravec.
The workshop will be held at Fletcher Opera Theater in Duke Energy Center in downtown Raleigh.
You will learn how to take the most demanding action images - high speed movement, fluid action in low light and rapidly changing lighting situations! Open to ANY skill level photographer with a camera that has Shutter and Manual settings.
You will not only build a portfolio of great images for your viewing and display pleasure, but also you will be able to apply the learned skills to ANY indoor sports activity, dance recital, play, orchestral performance and more.
The session will begin with a review of the necessary camera settings and photographic techniques, followed by the chance to photograph the dancers as they go through their paces.
Between acts your images will be reviewed and critiqued so you can keep progressing throughout the event.
