Have you always wanted to learn what it’s like to photograph an on-location commercial shoot, or perhaps you have always wanted to work with a professional model and did not know how to make the arrangements? Well then this workshop is for you! It is a great, affordable opportunity to add some unique images to your portfolio while learning lessons that will last you a lifetime.
Under the guidance of an experienced professional photographer you will learn how to identify and photograph “gritty” urban settings to create artistic images that everyone loves.
You will learn:
- basic composition techniques,
- how to “see the light,” (diffused, harsh, reflective),
- how to pose a model to achieve the desired effect,
- the use of reflectors,
- the use of umbrellas / soft boxes,
- how to meter light without a light meter,
- wireless flash systems, and
- how to determine proper camera settings for more artistic imagery
- and more!
More practical experience than classroom theory, this is a hands-on workshop. So bring your camera, its manual, fresh batteries, external flash, fresh flash batteries, and blank memory cards. Location information will be provided to enrollees in advance. Enrollees must arrange their own transportation.
Bring your camera, a wide angle lens, spare batteries, empty memory cards, and a tripod. Tripods are for rent for $10; let us know if you need one. A wired or wireless remote is also handy. We will have them for sale at the event for most popular cameras for $15 plus sales tax.
