This three hour, one-on-one specialized training session, taught by the only Certified Master Photographer in the Carolinas, teaches you how to shoot professional grade cinema or video sequences, with audio and lighting as available equipment enables.
Learn basic and advanced shooting techniques such as pedestal, reveal left, rveal right, stalker/sniper, column up. column down, OTS 1, OTS2, zoom, rack focus, dolly and zolly shots, to name some of the more useful Hollywood level techniques.
In this hands-on, on location session you will change camera settings to achieve maximum cinematic creativity with the least amount of effort from recording speed (frames per second) to resolution format (HD, 4K, etc.) and preferred decibel levels for clean audio. If your camera has the proper settings, you will use focus peaking and know how to change peaking colors for maximum visibility while shooting. Use of an on-camera video light is optional if the student has that equipment, but that is not needed to earn th shooting techniques.
Lens types and desired focal lengths will be discussed, as well as compression techniques and other advanced topics.
For maximum benefit, students are encouraged to buy or rent an external microphone (if their camera has an audio port) and a small video light for cold shoe mounting where a still photography flash normally sits, as well as a gimbal stabilizer.
Topics covered in this on-location session include:
- Hollywood level professional shooting techniques
